Usery Pass Graduation
I have to be one of the most indecisive person I know, but once I make a decision I am all in until the end. Talking to my client Sarah, she told me that she wanted to have her shoot for graduation done in an area that was true desert, with cactus and mountains in the background.
Immediately I thought of Usery Pass Mountain Regional Park because it sits right next to the Superstition Mountains, is well maintained, and is truly beautiful if you enjoy the desert scenery. The only issue being, Sarah and I were looking for a location in the middle of the two of us. She is located up in North Phoenix, and I am in the East Valley. Through our conversations, we had multiple locations in mind. but now the issue was that I had not shot at many of these spots.
Once I make a decision I am one to stick to it! So I told her that we could do the shoot at one of the other locations but I kept saying that I was more familiar to Usery Pass and I KNOW it will turn out exactly how she is wanting. we ended up going to Usery Pass and upon arrival at the viewing pond, Sarah was ecstatic with the location and scenery! Through the shoot we tried many different poses and angles with the cactus and mountains trying to really capture that image that she was looking for.
After about an hour and a half the clouds rolled in and the wind turned up! we took a break for a bit hoping the weather would pass. about 15 minutes later it began to ran and did not look to slow down, so sadly we called the shoot, but not after we got the shots we were looking for!
The whole experience was a lot of fun coordinating with someone who truly just wanted photos to remember! I cant wait to work with them again and I will definitely always recommend Usery Pass as an excellent photography location!
